Meet the friendly veterinarians at Caring Hands Veterinary Hospital!
Education: University of California, Davis
Dr. Heather Parrish is originally from California, but spent her childhood growing up on a sailboat in Central and South America with her family. At an early age, she witnessed a lack of veterinary medicine and preventative care for animals in underdeveloped countries. This eventually evolved into a passion for veterinary medicine, volunteer work, and international travel.
Dr. Parrish earned her doctorate of veterinary medicine (DVM) from UC Davis in 2013. Upon graduation, she completed a one-year rotating internship at VCA Loomis Basin Veterinary Clinic in Loomis, California. She then moved to Colorado for a change of pace, drawn to the big mountains and undeniably beautiful seasons. Her professional interests include soft tissue surgery, preventative care, and internal medicine.
In her free time, Dr. Parrish can be found adventuring in the outdoors with her friends, family, and dog, Piper. She particularly enjoys hiking, mountain biking, rock climbing, and camping. She also values quiet evenings at home with her two cats, Mowgli and Amos, who will never turn down cuddle time on the couch!
