Meet the friendly veterinarians at Caring Hands Veterinary Hospital!
Education: Ross University
Dr. Leanne Ruoff grew up in New Jersey. While New Jersey is where she spent most of her time, she also spent a lot of time at her family's lake house in upstate New York where she skied, snowmobiled, hiked and spent time at the campfire. Leanne grew up with horses and a house full of animals, including dogs, cats, ferrets, parakeets, chinchillas, and reptiles. Leanne always found stray animals as a kid and took them to a vet or cared for them herself until they were either kept or re-homed. Leanne came from a family of human medical doctors, so she always had an interest in medicine, but also loved animals, so she knew veterinary medicine was the place for her.
Leanne attended Kutztown University in Pennsylvania where she received her Biology degree with a minor in Spanish. She continued her education by living on the island of St. Kitts for the next three years. Leanne earned her doctorate of veterinary medicine from Ross University, where she graduated with honors. She spent her clinical year at Colorado State University and decided Colorado was the place she wanted to make her new home.
When Leanne is not at the hospital she enjoys traveling. She has traveled to places such as the Dominican Republic, Spain, Panama and Puerto Rico. She completed a wildlife veterinary internship in South Africa and a medical volunteer trip in Nicaragua. She also enjoys running with her dog she adopted from St. Kitts, hiking, spending time with friends and family, skiing, snowmobiling, horseback riding and cooking.
